Andrea Robinson has been named chief marketing officer, Estée Lauder brand. In this newly created position, Robinson will lead global marketing for the Estée Lauder brand skincare, makeup and fragrance worldwide. She will assume her new role this spring and will report directly to John Demsey, global brand president, Estée Lauder.

Robinson has been in the beauty and fashion industry for over 30 years. She started her career in the magazine world and then moved to the brand side of the business, serving as president of Ultima II, president of Revlon’s department store marketing division and then joining L’Oreal USA as general manager of Helena Rubinstein.

Since 2001, Robinson has been president of Ralph Lauren Fragrances Worldwide, after serving as its general manager from 1997.

The Estée Lauder brand Global Marketing team will report to Robinson. Peter Lichtenthal, senior vice president, Global Marketing, Estée Lauder, will be providing critical assistance to Robinson during this transition period.

“Peter Lichtenthal has led the global marketing effort for the brand for four years and has been a driving force in the brand for the past 16 years,” said Dan Brestle, chief operating officer, Estée Lauder Companies. “He has been earmarked for a senior position at the Estée Lauder Companies with an announcement forthcoming.”
